I'm Dave Miller - a Law Enforcement Officer, hunter, husband, father, and founder of OxCreek Tactical. I'm a pretty competitive person by nature. I remember a while back when I was checking out my friend's new holster, I thought, “I could make something like that, but better!”
Because of my background in Law Enforcement, I knew what I needed in a holster and what was important. I needed a holster that was compact, durable, and would draw and holster repeatedly without fault - especially when I needed it most.
But I also wanted a holster that looked the part - had crisp, clean lines, and was comfortable to wear for hours on duty, or in my tree stand.
Well, I started experimenting and I finally made my first holster! I remember showing it to my wife and while she agreed it looked good, she gave me a few pointers on how to pretty them up even more without compromising quality or function.
My friends starting seeing my holsters and belts and asking me about them. Once they found out I made them myself, they kept asking me to make one for them!
Now, it’s one thing to sell a product to someone on the other side of the country that you’ll never see again, but it’s a totally different thing to make a product for a friend that you’ll see everyday. I don’t know about you, but my friends and fellow officers do NOT have a problem being honest with me, and would definitely let me know if my holster failed, especially when they needed it most.
This solidified my conviction for the highest quality in each and every holster we make, because in reality, someone’s life may depend on it.
That’s a big deal to me. I am out there on duty every day, and when I’m home, I have a family that means the world to me.
I don’t know about those mass-produced holsters made overseas, but when it comes to Oxcreek Tactical, “Good enough” isn’t good enough. Our standard is defined by whether I would be proud enough to wear it every day, and rely on it every day, in every situation.
The next thing I knew, Police Departments were getting in contact with me asking me to outfit their entire force with tourniquet carriers. And we still count it a privilege to outfit my Brothers in Blue.
We still regularly go to local gun shows and set up tables ourselves, not because we have to, but because we like to meet people in the community. We like to answer your questions, to see how you react to the quality when you see them for the first time, and because we're proud of OxCreek Tactical, and we know you will be too.
What made me begin my business then, is still what drives us today -
Real American-made quality, not quantity.
OxCreek Tactical is founded on ideals that will never change. We will never sacrifice quality just to make a quick dollar.
I can ensure that each item is tested and up to my high standards. If I wouldn't trust it on duty or in a life or death situation, we will not sell it.
